High School East FCCLA, along with the advisors Jaclyn Grebosz and Connie Smith, recently hosted it's 5th Annual Fruits and Veggies Challenge for the east side elementary schools. Over 350 students participated this year!
Students were asked to eat more servings of fruits and veggies during the month of March for National Nutrition month. They submitted their serving counts and FCCLA calculated the results weekly. Students were able to watch their progress with the weekly tracker.
This year the top classes in each school were Ms. Lamitola's class at Tackan, Ms. Ozol's class at Mills Pond, Ms. Cotignola's class at St. James, and Mr. Korba's class at Dogwood. Each class received prize. Mr. Korba's class was also the top class overall and Dogwood was the top school. They received a personalized drawstring bag with prizes inside!
Everyone did such an amazing job eating healthier! FCCLA is part of the CTE Family & Consumer Sciences Department.
